The best advertising invites you in. Welcome to Guesthouse Creative Agency

The best advertising

welcome to guesthouse.

Hello, Flexcar

You’re sorting through dozens of eager pitches right now. Thanks for finding ours.

We’re Guesthouse. We keep things simple.

We’ve done famous work for some huge brands, and left big agency life to help brands create fun social and digital content people care about.

Flexcar couldn’t be more exactly who we had in mind.

Our name is Guesthouse because we’re become part of your in-house team, using your existing strategy and what’s already working, to create more great content that tells the Flexcar story in a way that earns fans and converts. Based in Atlanta and North Carolina, with our lead designer in Nashville, we have access to Flexcars and beatufiul places to show off why Flexcar is much better than the way your great grandpa dealt with cars.

We come up with concepts, then produce them ourselves with our own content creators and makers to get it done right, and quickly. No handoffs.

It’s something we’re currently doing for Every Man Jack, RaceTrac gas stations, and Magic Spoon Cereal, and have done for Waymo, Volvo, Pivotal (flying cars, but now), Pep Boys, Goodyear, Cooper Tire, and many more.

Below are some examples of our work, experience with your category and audience, and approaches for how we might handle content creation, having not met you yet.

Hope to chat and collaborate soon.

SOME CURRENT CLIENTS

Like yours, these brands all have a great reason for being. Whether giving Gen Z fun cereal grownups can eat, or helping build wealth in Black communities, reintroducing the idea of making American Denim in America, or inspiring Millennial men to smell good while they get dirty outdoors.

R E M I N D E R

EVERYONE HATES advertising.
BUT THEY LOVE INTERESTING THINGS.

LET’S MAKE INTERESTING THINGS TOGETHER.

EVERY MAN JACK

Guesthouse is here to be an extension of your team. That’s exactly what we do for Every Man Jack, concepting and producing all kinds of social, digital, motion graphics, e-retail, and email content alongside their in-house team. We’d love to share more and show you exactly how it works. In-house, with really nice sheets.

I have found working with Guesthouse to be incredibly unique.
From the outset, they have been a great thought partner and really an extension of our internal creative team.

BIG BUDGET & OVERTHUNK

RALEIGH DENIM WORKSHOP

Jeans are the most American thing ever. But did you know NONE of the big brands are made in the US? For 4th of July, we helped fashion brand Raleigh Denim Workshop make people realize, domestic denim for 100 bucks is something we can all agree on. (Made for a budget of roughly a pair of their jeans, ha.)

VOLVO TRUCKS

For Driver’s Appreciation Week, Volvo wanted to thank drivers in a real way. And if there’s one thing we know about these isolated guys, the thing they want most is to talk to somebody. So we made them the guests on Truck Stop Talk. We hit a huge truck stop with a couple iPhones, and turned their truck cabs into the set. We left them with plenty of Volvo merch and a story to tell. It outperformed all previous Driver’s Appreciation Week efforts.

#WHATTHETRUCK

When Volvo wanted to launch a new truck in 2015, it spent millions on Jean-Claude Van Damme for a TV spot. By 2024, that launch approach no longer made sense. So to launch Volvo’s next gen truck, we played a prank to get the actual target speculating on TikTok, Insta, and YouTube. This post is just one piece of the social puzzle, and earned 1.7MM organic views on YouTube alone.

@volvotrucksna

Find out what happens when you park a top secret wrapped truck in a not-so-secret place. #WhatTheTruck #AllNewVolvoVNL

Next we partnered with brand ambassador and trucking influencer Alex Nino to get people excited and flooding TikTok and Instagram with (mostly wrong) guesses about what kind of truck it was.

MELLOW MUSHROOM PIZZA

Mellow Mushroom is a pizza place with a laid-back hippie mentality and a stoned mushroom for a mascot. To get more followers on Twitter, we told people if you follow us, we'll follow you. We didn't mention we'd be using your social info to do it in real life, in the company's creepy mushroom costumes. The campaign was featured in the New York Times, named one of Entrepreneur Magazine's "Top 3 Marketing Masterworks," and for years Twitter used it as an example of how best to use Twitter.

YOURS IS A FUN CATEGORY TO PLAY IN

Travelocity

(Online Retail)

Travelocity had low brand awareness and was losing share to better-known competitors.

Our team created the Roaming Gnome, a ceramic little fella based on the “traveling gnome” prank.
We introduced him with his first live action campaign and worked on the brand for years, creating tons of content, and even an insane game where you had to keep the gnome from falling asleep to show off their 24/7 customer service. We also launched the Travelocity Guarantee that said if you have a problem on your trip, they’ll make it right, right away. Between the Guarantee and the lovable little brand mascot, we helped Travelocity catch up and become a leader in the travel site game.

RESULTS:

  • Site visits increased by 220%

  • Revenue doubled

  • Unaided awareness caught and exceeded Expedia

  • 98% brand awareness

  • Multiple Gold Effie Awards

DELTA & COCA-COLA

(Travel Partnership / Social Stunt)

The best advertising is based on a truth. And the truth of air travel is: everyone wants an aisle or window seat. So we created the Middle Seat Lounge, the first airport lounge reserved exclusively for the heroes of air travel. Staffed with travel influencers creating their own content, we were able to capture social media’s attention, increase brand love, and win a Cannes Lion along the way.

PIVOTAL

(Premium Vehicle Social & E-Comm)

We have experience managing social for a very different fleet of cars - “flying car” eVTOL brand Pivotal, the first personal eVTOL ever sold. We used social videos like this one to spark people’s imagination, make them feel that the car is safe, and drive to the e-commerce site we designed to sell directly online. If you have $200,000 laying around, one can be yours today at pivotal.aero.

AND! be sure to create tentpole moments

Part of getting noticed on social is creating big tentpole moments that create news, interest, and earn a genuine role in culture.

FRENCH’S MUSTARD

To drum up excitement for a brand people don't often talk about, we created an unignorably controversial treat. What followed was a lot of social love, PR, sales, and copycats. In fact, it kicked off the “weird-food collab” trend in social.

How do you let the world know there are now more names than ever on bottles of Coke? We create a totally unique song and social music video for every single name - all 1,000 of them. Seriously.

We helped B-Corp Gaia Herbs challenge a shady industry to do better, by doing something every other company would be terrified to do: We invited the FDA to come visit, any time. A social video, LinkedIn post from their CEO, and full page ad in the NYT kicked off the invite.

CAPTURING THE BRAND VOICE

We love working with brands to capture their unique personality through how they show up in social and digital.

MAGIC SPOON TREATS

(A fun product for brand new grown-ups)

Magic Spoon is the protein-first replacement for sugary cereal that lets Millennials and Gen Z eat like a kid in their adult bodies. To launch their new product - a healthy rice crispie treat - we had two distinct voices. One attention-grabbing brand-based visual comedy approach, and one product focused direction with more of a smart-funny, educational tone.

We introduced new Magic Spoon Treats by tapping into the insight that even though Millennials and Gen Z are older, we don't FEEL like grownups. So we showed that Magic Spoon Treats are a macros version of your favorite snacks that take you right back to childhood.

We also had fun with product-focused content that tapped into that throwback mindset. Plus fun behind the scenes and simple digital posts, as well as email, digital, and e-retail content for Amazon.

Gaia herbs

(Online retail)

Gaia Herbs goes out of their way to make their herbs the right way. Even though there are no laws that say they have to. Our first target was Millennials who take health seriously. We created these fun social videos using real employees to make the point that Gaia makes the hardest working herbs on earth, in a genuine way.

“Employee testimonials usually put people to sleep, but they work like a charm in this new campaign for Gaia Herbs.”
— Ad Age

To promote Gaia’s higher-end products to a Gen X and older Millennial target, we tapped supermodel and wellness influencer Giselle Bündchen. She’s used the brand for decades, so we followed her around at her villa in Costa Rica and showed how she uses the products in her life. A very different tone for a very different part of the business.

KIOTI TRACTOR

And now for something completely different, tone-wise. KIOTI Tractor is the brand that celebrates dirt and all it stands for. In this social series, we went to small town dirt tracks to capture the magic of this high-speed, mud-loving culture.

(Heavy Machinery)

Wes, Mitch & Jeff have led top agencies across the country. Their work has a way of getting talked about in the press and social, earning many millions in free media, winning global creative awards you probably don’t care about, and global effectiveness awards you might. They’re most proud of the results they’ve helped their clients achieve, and the excitement it can create in an organization. They do their most famous work by turning social briefs into quick, fun, timely content. They love teaching students, mentoring creatives, and training teams on how to get to big ideas. They’re able to write in third person like it’s no big deal.

As a commercial & video director, Wes Whitener has shot campaigns for brands like Five Guys, Checkers & Rally’s, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. So at Guesthouse, the same people shaping the work can bring it to life as well. No handoffs, nothing lost in translation from kickoff to going live. Our Guesthouse roster also includes great social content creators and producers to make sure the job goes off without a hitch.
(We’re anti-hitch.)

Thanks for looking.

We literally built Guesthouse to help brands like yours do big agency-style creative work in a smarter, more nimble, social way. As high-level creatives at perennial agencies-of-the-year, we are the people agencies hire to do this exact kind of work, and then charge brands much much more to do it. We have all the design and production community connections and track record to run an ongoing content creation project like this - we've done it many times.

Here’s to fresh cars on the open road, and the end of car payments on cars worth less every day.
