The best advertising invites you in. Welcome to Guesthouse Creative Agency

The best advertising

welcome to guesthouse.

You’re sorting through hundreds of eager pitches right now. Thanks for finding ours.

We’re Guesthouse. We keep things simple.

We’ve done famous work for the biggest brands ever, and left big agency life to help brands we love do fun things people care about.

Magic Spoon couldn’t be more exactly who we had in mind.

Below are three approaches to launching Magic Spoon Treats, having not met you yet.

Hope to chat and collaborate soon.

EVERYONE HATES advertising.
BUT THEY LOVE INTERESTING THINGS.

LET’S MAKE INTERESTING THINGS TOGETHER.

DO SOMETHING CHEAP AND CHEERFUL
AND PERFECTLY WRONG

Melinda’s Hot Sauce makes boring food, super exciting. This paid social campaign was incredibly effective with the kind of numbers that helped Melinda’s get into Kroger, and break into the top 10 hot sauce rankings. WAKE THE FOOD UP!

Odwalla is a blend of an impossible number of fruits. It’s a mouthful. In this simple setup, we helped Odwalla stand out in a tough grocery juice aisle.

Even with NO budget, you can do work people care about and blow up in social. Helps if your product is chocolate and delicious. Hmm, kind of like Magic Spoon?

DO AN AD THAT DOESN’T FEEL LIKE ONE

Mellow Mushroom is a pizza place with a laid-back hippie mentality and a stoned mushroom for a mascot. To get more followers on Twitter, we told people if you follow us, we'll follow you. We didn't mention we'd be using your social info to do it in real life, in the company's creepy mushroom costumes. The campaign was featured in the New York Times, named one of Entrepreneur Magazine's "Top 3 Marketing Masterworks," and for years Twitter used it as an example of how best to use Twitter.

Wait, if steak tacos are good for me, is EVERYTHING good for me? Rizwan Manji from Schitt’s Creek surely thinks so, with narration from Chris Parnell. We love the fact that this brand is in a similar health category, and is simple and fun and effective.

We directed Five Guys’ first ever TV campaign. A non-commercial commercial.

DO SOMETHING IMPOSSIBLE TO IGNORE

To drum up excitedment for an ancient brand no one talked about, we created an unignorably controversial treat. What followed was a lot of PR, sales, and copycats. In fact, it kicked off the “weird-food collab” trend in advertising.

How do you let the world know there are now more names than ever on bottles of Coke? We wrote a custom song for every single name - all 1,000 of them. Seriously.

We helped Gaia Herbs challenge a shady industry to do better, by doing something every other company would be terrified to do: We invited the FDA to come visit, any time. A TV spot, LinkedIn post from the CEO, and full page ad in the NYT kicked off the invite.

All-in-one production at Guesthouse agency

As a commercial director, Wes Whitener has shot campaigns for brands like Five Guys, Checkers & Rally’s, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. So at Guesthouse, the same people shaping the strategy and work can bring it to life as well. No handoffs, nothing lost in translation from kickoff to going live. Our Guesthouse roster also includes great agency producers and experienced line producers to make sure the job goes off without a hitch.

Thanks for looking.

We literally built Guesthouse to help brands like Magic Spoon do big agency-style creative work they normally couldn't afford. As high-level creatives at perennial agencies-of-the-year, we are the people agencies hire to do this exact kind of work, and then charge clients much much more to do it. We have all the production community connections and track record to run a production like this - we've done it many times ourselves.

We eat like the 80s, and try to eat smarter.

In other words, nice to meet you.

Spoons,
Guesthouse
